Blood Corps + The first few test-minis for a new project are finished, the paint scheme is now set. The Blood Corps will be the nemisis of my Cadian Last and will form the majority of the forces of Chaos that are vying for control of Boreas, led by the Apostate-Warlord Xiah Hesh. I wanted these troops to look more disciplined than a cultist rabble but still more ad hoc than the Imperial forces. I am really pleased with how they turned out and can't wait to tuck into more of them, hopefully they will grow alongside my Cadians. All thoughts welcome! Death to the False Emperor!
Baraqu + The second of my Clan-Dogr warriors is complete, ready to scour Old Terra for Baraqu. This collaborative project has really kick started my passion for this hobby again and it was an absolute honour to be asked to join in - there's some real talent coming your way from the other guys. I've also been writing some fluff pieces for the project, a link for which is in the bio. All feedback welcome folks, I'm in unchartered waters here!
Baraqu + I was extremely lucky to have the immensely talented @paulfriedrichvonbargen kindly offer to send me an example of the poseable Astartes body and legs that he's been working on. All strictly for personal use I should say! The opportunity to put this awesome kit to use in my Unification-Era collaboration project was too good to pass. So here is my early Astartes, First Legion, a scout for the forces of Unity. C&c welcome on this one, this is by far the most ambitious project I've worked on. Unity or Death!
Baraqu + The clans of Alba were tempered by permanent nuclear winter. This, alongside intermittent conflicts with the Nordyc tribes to the North and the lands of the Franc to the south, had bred feirce and proud warriors. Amongst the toughest of these are the warriors of Clan-Dogr. Here is a WIP of my clan-lord for my Unification Era warband. Techno-barbarians are a lot of fun!
Baraqu + Another mutant for Reck's scrap-hunter crew. A fairly basic conversion of a brilliant FW sculpt. Not sure how he'd stand up to a Thunder Warrior in an even fight. But then Reck's crew has never fought an even fight.
Baraqu + Reck, the Scrap-King of the Atlan Wastes. Leading a band of reavers, mutants, tech-addicts and outcasts, the Scrap-King scratches a living delving into the ancient ruins and broken hives of Terra, seeking relics from the Dark Age of Technology. A working title for a little collaboration so other fine fellows and I are working on. Unity or Death! (or plunder)
Cadian Last + The war on Boreas was entering its 4th year and the traitor forces under the command of Apostate-Warlord Amon Hesh were back on the offensive. Winter was ending and the melting snow had reopened the roads and cleared the valleys and paths into the Uplands. Thus the spring offensive began, hoping to counter the coming push of the traitor forces and drive them back towards the Valha Starport, one cold, bloody mile at a time. 'Spring' on Boreas lasts only three months of the yearly cycle and in the polar region, often not even that. Daylight hours were limited and often nonexistent during the long winter. Spring therefore provides the best opportunity for serious progress before the onset of winter, the blistering cold, the midnight sun and another long stalemate with incremental progress. The 144th Inf. Reg. the 'Cadian Last' moved out, forming the speartip of the coming offensive.
Brakkus + Reaver Sergeant Brakkus had fallen at Ullanor, cleaved in two by Warboss Urrlak Urruk, Horus had personally approved his internment into contemptor pattern armour, in which he proudly stood at the Triumph in which Horus was declared Warmaster. Utterly devoted to his primarch and savagly aggressive, he had been seconded to Balak's company before Istvaan III, tasked with keeping watch for dissidence and hesitation amongst the 49th as they set about their task of hunting and murdering their former brothers. Brakkus had taken particular delight in the slaughter, a dark and savage joy filled him as he killed his fellow Sons, a fervour that drew rebuke from some in Balak's company and was the root of emnity between him the Half-Blind. It is recorded that Brakkus fell for the last time in the Solar Campaigns before the siege of Terra, although it is unknown at which stage in the fighting. It is uncertain if he ever reached the scorched and bloody surface of the Throneworld.
The Cadian Last + 'You see this, whiteshield? This is why you don't shake your bloody gun. It's like can of alkol, but instead it's filled with searing blue molten fire that burns hotter than a star's core. You boys won't know Duggan, but the Emperor knows him, he's a pile bubbling ash out there somewhere. And just when I thought I couldn't get any uglier. So don't shake you're bloody gun, especially not when you're stood next to me. Got it?' - @oathshield - thanks for the inspiration!
Support Weapons + After Cadia, after the Indomitus Crusade, regiments of the Imperial Guard began to incorporate methods of tackling Heretic Astartes at a platoon level, the result was increase in plasma weaponry with veterans to wield them, men who had faced a Space Marine and lived. I finally painted up my plasma gunners who will form part of a veterans squad eventually. Hope y'all like them!
Hasdrubal's Purge + All this mordheim 2019 stuff is making me itch to revisit the City of the Damned. Bloody hell there's some talent out there!
Lost and the Damned + I always build an army with a location and a battle in mind. For my Sons of Horus I build them with Istvaan III in mind. For my Cadian Last, I imagined them on a wintery backwater planet, slogging it out with renegade forces. This was not a war of deamons or Astartes. These men are the first few of the Renegades and Heretics I have been filling with to form a counter force to the Cadian Last. The Blood Corps, led by the enigmatic Apostate-Warlord Amon Hesh. Let the Galaxy Burn!
